Cuckoo clocks to parasols. Gothic sculpture to Baroque furniture. Neglected or treasured - we have it all.
...anything is possible. The connoisseur, decorator or the curious are all catered for with a vast range of items of many styles and periods always in stock, gathered from regular European journeys.
If asked, Blake will tell you the early childhood story of his love of antiques, and how he coveted a piece of Meissen porcelain so much that his mother had to continually move it to increasingly difficult places to get to. This was the beginning of Blake’s love of fine pieces of design and craftsmanship; a love affair that has led to regular travels abroad, a keen eye for beauty in all its forms, and a collection of items that has been described as an Aladdin’s cave of wonder.
Blake is a delightful enigma, as is his workshop, which is a trove of organised chaos. Prepare for hours of discovery or steal minutes at a time.
Below is a small sample of what we have in stock.
We only deal in extraordinary objects. We apologise to those people for which ordinary is enough.
IKEA didn't invent the flat pack - flat packs like this wardrobe go back at least three hundred years, and the idea of furniture that can be knocked down for transport is even older. And best of all, not a single screw, bolt, or allen key in sight...
Most stock is displayed in the condition in which it was found, to enable buyers to assess the original condition of each item, and to allow them to have an input in the conservation process. This allows for a variety of finishes to be applied to a piece, suited to the client's needs.
Traditional materials and methods are utilised, as well as modern techniques, to provide a comprehensive restoration service.
